Theodore "Ted" Thompson

   Theodore “Ted” Thompson, 99, of rural Hatton ND passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at Hatton Prairie Village in Hatton, ND.

   Ted was born May 24, 1923, on the family farm, to John O. and Josephine (Berg) Thompson of Hatton, North Dakota. He was baptized and confirmed at Goose River Evangelical Lutheran Church, rural Hatton. Ted attended rural grade school at Newburgh # 5, graduated from Hatton High School in 1941 and attended North Dakota Agricultural Collage in Fargo for a short time before beginning farming. He became a lifelong farmer and was the 3^rd generation to farm the original homestead west of Hatton.

   Ted married Ada Midtbo on June 2, 1951, at the Goose River Church, Hatton, ND. Together they raised four children.

   Ted will be remembered for his quiet disposition and good sense of humor. He was active in his church, community, and was a member of several farm organizations over the years. Hobbies included reading, welding, bowling, and many farm related projects. He retired from farming in 2000.

   He is survived by his wife: Ada of 71 years; children: Faye (Mark) Duncan of Hatton, Julae Rosenwald of West Fargo, John Thompson of Hatton and Ann (John) Lundeby of Belleville, Illinois; grandchildren: Nathan (Amy) Duncan, Lee (Chelsea) Duncan, Christopher (Jamie) Bulson, Kimberly (Clint) Skog, Joshua (Stephanie) Lundeby and Elizabeth (Bryan) Heil. Also blessed with nine great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.

   Preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Lewis Thompson and Nickoli Thompson; sisters: Elisa Benson and Jean Midtbo; brothers in law: Edward Benson and Olaf Midtbo; sister in law: Ida Thompson; sons in law: Steve Bulson and Steve Rosenwald; grandson: Weston Duncan.

   Memorials preferred to the Hatton Area Community Foundation, PO Box 232, Hatton, ND 58240.       

Visitation:  Will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Funeral Service: Will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, August 8, 2022 at St John Lutheran Church in Hatton, ND.

Burial: Will be in the Goose River Cemetery in Hatton, ND.
