Scott Cranston

   Scott Adam Cranston, 70, of Hatton, ND, died Monday, November 30, 2020 at his home in Hatton, ND.

   Donald Adam Cranston “Scott” was born in Westhope, ND on November 13, 1950 to George and Janet (Buick) Cranston, later Janet Bronderslev. The family lived in Antler, ND where Scott attended and graduated from Antler High School in 1969.

   Scott, married the love of his life, Kathy Solway, in 1972 in Esmond, ND. They started their lives together in Grand Forks, ND. Scott and Kathy moved to Hatton, ND in 1973. While in Hatton, Scott managed the Sunset Lounge for many years and started his own business ValleyLand Investments. With these two careers he enjoyed meeting and visiting with many people in the area. Scott was very active in the Hatton community and its economic development. He was a member of the Hatton Fire Department and started the Hatton Open, which is still going on today. Scott and Kathy had two children, Lisa (Elmwood Park, IL) and Randy (Dickinson, ND).

   Scott loved to be with family and friends. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, playing dice, watching horseraces, however his favorite was spending time with his grandchildren: Morgan, Donovan, Felix, Britton, Boston and Beckett.  

   Scott is survived by his wife: Kathy; daughter: Lisa Clucas (Jeff), grandkids: Morgan, Donovan and Felix Clucas; Son: Randy (Jenna), grandkids Britton, Boston and Beckett Cranston. Brother: Robert Cranston (White Oaks, NM) and Sister: Sharon Engstrom (Antler, ND).

   Scott is preceded in death by his parents, step-brother, and nephew.

Masks are required.

Visitation:  Will be 5–7 PM on Friday, December 4, 2020 at the Baker Funeral Home Chapel in Mayville, ND and will resume one hour prior to the service at the church.

Funeral Service: 1:00 PM Saturday, December 5, 2020 at St. John Lutheran Church in Hatton, ND.

The service will be Livestreamed and archived on the Hatton St John Facebook.

 Burial: Will be in the St. John Cemetery in Hatton, ND.
