Richard "Dick" Holt

   Richard “Dick” Holt, 77, of Mayville, ND, died Monday, December 3, 2018 at his home in Mayville, ND.    Richard Gary Holt, the son of Henry and Ella (Sonstegaard) Holt was born in Mayville, ND, on January 23, 1941. He graduated from Mayville High School in 1959. In 1960 he married Mary Kay Schmidt and two children were born to this union, Deborah Kay and Michael Gary. Following several years in Petersburg, ND as an elevator manager, he returned to Mayville. In 1984, he married Marlys (Johnson) Hach. After working at Hardware Hank for several years, he returned to what he loved doing the most, working for local farmers until his death. Richard was a member of Mayville Lutheran Church and a Master Mason of Goose River Lodge #19.            Richard is survived by his wife of 34 years: Marlys; his daughter: Debbie (Randy) Defoe of Pembina; 5 grandsons: Aaron (Melissa) Defoe and Kyle (Seana) Defoe, Dustin Holt, Tanner Holt and Dalton Holt and a great-granddaughter: Callie Defoe. He is also survived by Marlys’s children: Rob (Rachel) Hach, Cherri (Paul) Fransen and Brian Hach; along with 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Richard is also survived by two sisters: Donna Lande and Beverly Kuntz; two brothers: Allan Holt and Dale (Bev) Holt and a sister-in-law: Eileen Holt and numerous nieces and nephews.           Richard was preceded in death by his parents; his son: Michael; sisters: Hazel, Eleanore, Lorraine and Delores and brothers: Darrell, Linden, and Byron.           In lieu of flowers, please consider giving a memorial to the charity of your choice.  Visitation:  Will be 5–7 PM with a 7 PM Public Prayer Service, followed by a Masonic Service by Goose River Lodge #19, on Monday, December 10, 2018 at the Baker Funeral Home Chapel in Mayville, ND and will resume one hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral Service: 10:30 AM Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at the Mayville Lutheran Church in Mayville, ND. Burial: Will be in the Mayville Cemetery in Mayville, ND.
