RhodaJean Westervall

   RhodaJean Westervall, 90, of Minnetonka, MN, formerly of Hope, ND peacefully passed away 12/21/21 at her residence, The Glenn in Minnetonka.

   Rhoda was the youngest child born to Christ Paulson and Theresa (Reddemann) Paulson in Pickert, ND on August 21, 1931. She attended school in Pickert and Finley, ND.  Rhoda married Verne Westervall on June 28, 1953, in Blabon, ND. Rhoda worked at the Steele County Courthouse prior to marrying, and as a farm wife and mother, cooking many meals for farm workers and running for parts.  Verne and Rhoda retired from farming in 1990 and worked as a caretaker couple in a Minneapolis high-rise before returning to Hope in 1999.

   Rhoda was a quiet but diligent worker, supportive of her family, friends and community and anything and everything musical.  Rhoda volunteered for many community groups including Redeemer Lutheran Church, Hope School, and Steele County Historical Society.

   Rhoda is preceded in death by her husband Verne; parents; brothers, Roy, Earl, Leeland and Delmer Paulson; sisters, Leila Hancock, Olive Shelstad, Elsie Howes, and nieces, Dana Herbert and Shirley Pete.

   Rhoda is survived by her children, Brenda Kerr, Nashville; Jan (Tim) Dufault, Minnetonka; grandchildren, Connor (Rojonaina Andriamihaja) Dufault, Minneapolis, and Chloe Dufault, Costa Mesa, CA; niece, Arlaine Abellera, Greenville, SC; and Ricki Poseley, Jamestown, ND; great nieces and nephews, Alana O’Reilly, Greenville, SC; Kelly Pete, Seattle; and Jason Herbert, Hanover, MD.

   We miss your quiet, silly stubbornness, your willingness to always ride along, window shop and drink coffee, lots of coffee.

   Suggested memorials:  Redeemer Lutheran Church, Hope Cemetery and Steele County Historical Society, all in Hope, ND.

Visitation:  Will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Memorial Service: Will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 21, 2022 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hope, ND.

Burial: Will be in the Hope Cemetery in Hope, ND.
