Michael Jay Eastman

Michael Jay Eastman, 65, of Las Vegas, NV formerly Mayville, ND died on Friday, June 6, 2025 at his home.

Michael was born June 2, 1960 in Mayville, ND to Kenneth and Margit Eastman. He graduated at May-Port High School in 1978 and later graduated from Mayville State University. He served in the Army National Guard stationed in Mayville. Michael worked as a jailer in Grand Forks, ND, as an EMT in Mayville, ND and as a Paramedic in Wisconsin, Fresno, CA and Las Vegas, NV. 

Michael attended the University of Washington where he obtained a degree as a Physician’s Assistant (PA-C). He worked almost 30 years in Boise, ID and in Las Vegas, NV, mostly in the area of pain management. Helping those with chronic pain conditions.

Michael grew up with a love of horses, spending many hours in the saddle. His love of music served him well, playing several instruments and singing in the choir and performing in a quartet that won the state competition. He cared about people and was always willing to help anyone. 

Michael is survived by his mother: Margit Eastman of Mayville ND; sister: Marla Eastman of Grand Forks, ND; brother: Doug Eastman of Mayville, ND; his niece: Shelby Krueger of Surprise, AZ and nephews: Ryan (Amy) Olson of Oslo, MN, Matt Eastman and Marc Eastman both of Mayville, ND.  Michael is proceeded in death by his father: Kenneth Eastman; grandparents: Fred and Jane Eastman, Hartwell and Thea Burner and his niece: Kylie Jo Olson.

Visitation: Will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Funeral Service: Will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Mayville, ND.

Military Honors: May~Port Honor Guard.

Burial: Will be in Mayville Cemetery in Mayville, ND.
