Martin E. Hettervig

   Martin (Marty) Hettervig, 55, of Buxton, ND passed away on December 30th, 2018 in Fargo, ND.    He was born on October 8th, 1963 in Grand Forks, ND the son of Ernest and Barbara Hettervig. He attended grade school in Climax, MN and graduated in 1982. Marty attended college at NDSCS in Wahpeton, ND for diesel mechanics and graduated with a 2-year degree. After his schooling, he worked on the Hettervig family farm with his dad, Ernest.    Marty was an active member of the Highland Lutheran Church and served on the Cemetery board and Church Council. In his free time, Marty enjoyed hunting, fishing, and farming. He enjoyed attending the Commodity Classics in Texas/Louisiana for marketing.    He is survived by his two sons: Christopher (Melanie) Hettervig of Buxton, ND and Casey Hettervig of Buxton, ND; mother: Barbara Hettervig of Mayville, ND; three sisters: Joyce (Daryl) Gilbertson of Eldred, MN, Emogean (Terrence) Sundeen of Green River, WY, and Nancy (Allan) Allrich of Mahnomen, MN; 3 nephews: Joshua Gilbertson, Benjamin Allrich, and Trent Sundeen    He was preceded in death by his dad: Ernest Hettervig; his uncle: Donald Hettervig and his cousins: David Hettervig and Jason Hettervig. Visitation:  Will be 5–6:30 PM with a 6:30 PM Public Prayer Service on Thursday, January 3, 2018 at the Luther Memorial Home Chapel in Mayville, ND and will resume one hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral Service: 10:30 AM Friday, January 4, 2018 at Highland Lutheran Church in Cummings, ND. Burial: Will be in the Highland Cemetery in Cummings, ND.
