Marilyn A Lande

Dec 9, 1929 — Sep 7, 2026

Mayville, ND

Marilyn Lande, 96, of Mayville, ND died Monday September 7, 2026 at the Luther Memorial Home in Mayville, ND.

Marilyn was born on December 9, 1929 in Mayville to Harry and Alice (Leum) Anderson. She attended school at the country school in Wold Township and high school in Mayville. After attending Mayville State for one year, she married Jerome W. Lande on December 1, 1950 at Gran Lutheran Church in rural Mayville.

Marilyn and Jerome started their life together on the family farm in Lindaas Township northeast of Mayville. She was a partner in farming with Jerome and raised two children: Mark and Debi. The couple farmed from 1950 until retirement in 1989. For years they spent many memorable winters in Mesa, Arizona while enjoying meeting and making many new friends in their “snowbird” community on B Street at The Resort.

Marilyn enjoyed sewing, craftwork and baking. The projects were far ranging and diverse. She made quilts, aluminum can pop top purses, hardanger embroidery, Christmas ornaments, cards, sewing items and many others. Most recently she tie-dyed shirts at the Home which she was quite excited about and was looking forward to her next tie dying project. She always had multiple projects going and shared her handiwork with family and friends. She remembered birthdays by baking family “big cookies”. We all had to remember returning the cookie tin so she could bake the next “big cookie”.

Marilyn is survived by her son Mark and wife Kathy; daughter Debi and husband Dean; grandchildren Ken and Kirk; step grandchildren Robin, Tim, Amy, Ann and Michelle; great grandchildren Gemma, Lia and Harley and ten step great grandchildren.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband Jerome; sister Luanne Anderson Appelwick; brothers Chester and Eugene Anderson; brothers in law Bill, Orville, Earling, Lowell, Jim; sisters in law Delores Conway and Adeline Lande.
