Lorraine T. Eken

   Lorraine Tinseth Eken, 82, Grand Forks, ND formerly of Mayville, ND died on Monday, April 6, 2020 surrounded by her family.

   Lorraine was born the daughter of Anton and Magna Tinseth on April 13, 1937 at Graceville, MN. She grew up and attended school at Alexandria and Elbow Lake, MN. She attended high school and graduated from Oak Grove Lutheran High School in Fargo. 

   She married Kenneth Eken on April 27, 1957 at Lotts Creek, Iowa.  She worked at Luther Memorial Home in Mayville, ND until retiring in 1997.

   Lorraine was a firm believer in Jesus Christ. She was a woman of prayer and was grateful for Ebenezer Lutheran Church. Lorraine was active in Ladies Circle and Ladies Aid. Her hobbies included embroidery work and reading. She loved letter writing and was well-known for sending cards and letters of encouragement to friends, family and others who touched her life. 

   Lorraine is survived by her husband of 62 years: Kenneth Eken, Mayville; 2 sons: Craig (Kim), Grand Forks and Kevin, Mayville; 5 grandchildren: Chad (Heather) Eken, Jill (Bryan) Knick, Kyle (Jamiee) Eken, Jordon and Eric Eken along with 8 great-grandchildren: Korbin, Justice, Ellis, Coulter, Declan, Brynley, Arabella Eken and Hannah Knick.

   She is preceded in death by her parents; 3 sisters; 2 brothers; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Private family services will be held on Saturday, April 11 at the Baker Funeral Home Chapel. Burial services will be held at a later date in the Mayville Cemetery in Mayville, ND.
