Laurel G. Jacobson

   Laurel Jacobson, 58, passed away on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at her home.    Laurel was born in Fargo, ND on September 12, 1960.  She was the daughter of Gene and Cathryn Thompson.  She grew up and attended school in Hatton, ND and was confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church. On May 27, 1978 she married David Jacobson. They had two children, John and Ryan.    Laurel held various jobs around town throughout her life, most recently as a cook at the Hatton Eielson School, where she enjoyed all of those she worked with and bringing smiles to all the kids faces. She loved her family, community, and life. She always had a positive, upbeat outlook and an infectious laugh. She particularly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and working on her yard and home.    Laurel is survived by her sons: John (Stacey), Hatton, ND and Ryan (Christina), Pasadena, CA; 3 grandchildren: Sydney, Chance, and Zane; a special niece: Amber Thompson, Aberdeen, SD; 3 special great nieces: Hannah, Gabby, and Lilly; parents: Gene and Cathryn Thompson; brothers: Jason Thompson, Larry (Cindy) Thompson, Brad (Edna) Thompson; sister-in-law: Belinda (Bert) Ready; brothers-in-law: Larry (Angie) Jacobson, Stewart (Susan) Jacobson, Steven (Ruth) Jacobson, and Michael (Jennifer) Jacobson; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.    She was preceded in death by her husband: David Jacobson and brother: Ronald Thompson. Visitation:  Will be 5–7 PM with a 7 PM Public Prayer Service on Friday, September 21, 2018 at the Baker Funeral Home in Mayville, ND and will resume one hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral Service: 2:00 PM Saturday, September 22, 2018 at St. John Lutheran Church in Hatton, ND.
