Helen Faye Wenaas

   Helen Faye Wenaas, 82, a lifelong resident of Mayville, ND, died Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at the Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND.

   Helen was born at Mayville, ND, May 13, 1937, to Henry and Hannah (Gilberts) Wenaas, the youngest of eight children.  Helen attended school in Mayville.

   Helen worked at the Luther Memorial Home in Mayville and also sold her craft items throughout the area. Helen’s embroidered towels, dish cloths, and blankets were always popular and will be used for years to come. Helen was well known and well loved babysitter and could not go out in public without somebody approaching her and commenting “I remember when you used to babysit me!”

   Helen was a very active member of First American Lutheran Church in Mayville. She served with the Caring Club for over 25 years and enjoyed her work making cards and knitting slippers. Helen loved to play cards, including Friday afternoons at the Mayville senior citizen center.

   Helen was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers and two sisters. She is survived by a large number of nieces, nephews and their families.

Helen was a beloved Aunt to everyone.

Visitation:  Will be 5–7 PM on Sunday, July 7, 2019 at the Baker Funeral Home Chapel in Mayville, ND and will resume one hour prior to the service at the church.

Funeral Service: 1:00 PM Monday, July 8, 2019 at the First American Lutheran Church in Mayville, ND.

Burial: Will be in the Mayville Cemetery in Mayville, ND.
