Helen Haugen

   Helen Haugen, 92, of Mayville, ND, died Sunday, June 3, 2018 at the Luther Memorial Home in Mayville, ND.    She was born on July 8, 1925 in Sheyenne, ND the daughter of Christian and Emma (Nordvick) Frosaker.    On December 13, 1943, Helen married Alf Haugen in Fort Morgan, Colorado. They lived in rural Portland on the family farm. In 1951 they moved into Mayville.  Alf died in 2009.  Helen later moved into Luther Memorial Home.    Helen was active at Aurdal Lutheran Church, which included  Ladies Aid.  She enjoyed making clothes for her daughters, playing cards, crossword puzzles, and entertaining friends and family.  Helen's home was open to all.    Helen is survived by 2 children; one son: Jay Haugen of Portland, ND and one daughter: Linda Basol of Mayville, ND; 8 grandchildren: Dori Wittmer, Rg Haugen, Misty Haugen, RJ Kaufman, Gordie Kaufman, Justine Kaufman, Johnathan Swift and Levi Haugen.  She is also survived by 11 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.    She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Alf;  one son, Gene Haugen; one daughter, Janis Kaufman; one granddaughter, Shelby Haugen; 5 sisters and 2 brothers. Visitation:  Will be 2–4 PM with a 4 PM Public Prayer Service on Sunday, June 10, 2018 at the Luther Memorial Home Chapel in Mayville, ND and will resume one hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral Service: 11:00 AM Monday, June 11, 2018 at the Aurdal Lutheran Church in Portland, ND. Burial: Will be in the Aurdal Cemetery in Portland, ND.
