Ellen Gail Amb

Ellen Gail Amb, 71, of Portland, ND passed away on Monday, April 28, 2025.

Ellen Gail Dean was born May 6, 1953. She graduated from Hatton High School, Mayville State Collage and NDSU. She spent her career as a teacher and principal at Hatton Public School.

She married and had two children, Jennifer and Jerry Homstad. Ellen raised her children in Hatton and in 1986 she married Brad Amb. She and her children moved to the Amb farm in rural Portland. They all loved their life on the farm.

Ellen was preceded in death by her daughter Jennifer. She is survived by her husband Brad, her son Jerry, her son-in-law Hugh Fetla and grandchildren Asher and Kota Fetla.

Ellen’s wish is that you plant a flower, a bush or a tree in a place of choosing in her memory.

We invite all who knew and loved Ellen to gather together for a time of sharing and remembrance. The garden gathering will be held between 5~7 PM on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at the Goose River Art & Historical Park Garden off of Highway 18 in Hatton. Please join us.
