Duane Allen Malley

   Duane Allen Malley, 76, of Mayville, ND died on Friday, July 15, 2022 at the Luther Memorial Home in Mayville, ND.

   Duane was born on August 29, 1945 to Gerhard and Virginia (Thompson) Malley in Hillsboro, ND. He attended Hillsboro High School and later entered the US Army. After leaving the military, he returned to Hillsboro. Duane worked for OK Foss Construction. He was a roofer for over 30 years and worked throughout the surrounding area.

   Duane was generally a quiet, gentle and kind man. He enjoyed Hershey Bars and chocolate in general. He would frequently send a candy bar with parting friends and family. Duane was an Elvis fan and liked country music. He liked to fish and visit with family.

   He is survived by his sisters: Marilyn Ydstie of Grand Forks, ND and Gloria (Dale) Pallet of Shelton, NB; brother: Donald (Laura) Malley of Hayward, WI; sister-in-law: Anna Malley of Mayville, ND and numerous nieces and nephews.

   Preceded in death are his parents; brother: Gerald Malley; an infant sister: Janet and a brother-in-law: Paul Ydstie.

As per Duane’s wishes, there will be no services and he will donate his body to the UND Deeded Body Program for medical research.
