Dalyce L Larson

January 18, 1939 — June 25, 2024

Dalyce LaRay Larson, age 85 of Mayville, ND, passed away peacefully at Essentia Health with her family by her side. Dalyce was born on January 18,1939 in Mayville to Clarence and Velma Pautz.

She grew up in Mayville and graduated from Mayville High School. While she was working at the Mayville Motel (their family business), she met Verne Curtis Larson of Fargo. They married on May 27, 1961, and moved to Minot. In Minot they owned Pat’s Motel. Thereafter, they moved to Fargo where they resided for 61 years.

Over the years she was not only a homemaker, but she also worked numerous part-time jobs. This allowed her to be home raising her children. One of her part-time jobs was the Midweek Eagle. She instilled a good work ethic in her children by including them in her weekly routine.

Dalyce loved spending time outside gardening. She enjoyed sitting with Verne in their backyard looking at their beautiful flower gardens. Dalyce also loved crocheting, canning tomatoes and baking. Later in life, she enjoyed watching game shows, watching Polka Party, doing puzzles and playing bingo. She is remembered by her grandchildren for her wonderful meals. A family favorite was her roast beef dinners, lefsa, apple pie and krumkake.

She will greatly be missed by her friends and family. Dalyce was an inspiration of strength and resilience living with cancer for many years.

Dalyce is survived by her husband: Verne of 63 years; daughters: Wendy (Greg), Wanda (Andrew) and Tammy (Todd); grandchildren: Jamie (Ryan), Cody (Melissa), Alexandra, Briani, Tristan, Tukker and Bella; great grandchild: Avery and her sisters: Debra and Marlys.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Clarence and Velma Pautz; grandchild: Quinn; brothers-in-law: Delbert and Dan; and uncles/aunts.

Dalyce’s wish was to have a joint funeral service with her husband Verne at the time of his passing.
