  Curtis Elmer Suhr, 88, Page, ND peacefully passed away at Eventide in Fargo North Dakota on August 12th, 2023, after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease.

   Curtis was born on March 2nd, 1935, to Henry and Idella (Davis) Suhr. He grew up in the Page North Dakota area where he attended and graduated school. He later attended North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton North Dakota for Auto Mechanics.

   In 1958, on the way home from the theater, he met Esther Peterson who became his best friend, and later his wife. They married on June 30th, 1959, at the Methodist Church in Fargo, North Dakota. They lived in numerous homes around Page North Dakota, before finally settling down in their current home established in 2009.

   Curtis was employed at several repair shops in Page, as well as the family farm before owning his Ford dealership in 1963, creating Suhr Motor Company. A few years later, he also created the Versatile dealership in Page. Alongside his sons, he continued to farm until 2017.

   Curtis enjoyed his trips to British Columbia and Montana to elk hunt as well as trips to Canada to fish. Both Curtis and Esther enjoyed getting away during their winter vacations in Arizona. He especially enjoyed his morning trips to shake dice and have a Coke and cookie in the Page Café with the guys. Curtis liked his frequent trips to the casino in various locations. He enjoyed watching his sons race cars and four-wheelers as well as his grandchildren in their sports. He had a strong passion for working on engines and old tractors.

   He is survived by his wife: Esther; sons: Craig (Cheryl), Randy (Cindy) of Page and Brian (Jennifer) of Cooperstown; grandchildren: Piper, Rylee and Tucker of Cooperstown; sister: Karen (Walter) Treitline of Page; sisters in law: Arlene Jacobson, Shirley Jacobson, Diane Peterson, Jonnelle Suhr, Arla Suhr; and many nieces and nephews.

   He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Kenneth, and Gerald; as well as an infant brother.

Visitation:  Will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel.

Prayer Service: Will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, August 18, 2023 at the Baker Funeral Home Chapel in Mayville, ND.

Graveside Services: Will be held at 3:00 PM Friday in the Page Cemetery in Page, ND. Everyone is invited to the Page Cafe after the graveside service for lunch and fellowship.
