Following college, Court worked as a bank examiner before establishing himself as a farmer.
Court married Arlene Osland at Bethany Lutheran Church, rural Hatton, North Dakota, on March 20, 1981. They became members of Gran Lutheran Church, rural Mayville, and raised their family on the farm near Blanchard.
Court approached life, family, and farming with devotion, drive, thoughtfulness, and a clever sense of humor. Court was a loving husband and father. Farming was a vocation and a passion for Court. He was a steward of the land, taking pride in establishing, growing, and maintaining the farm. He served on the American Crystal Sugar Company Board of Directors, and he served his community in many ways.
Court always loved spending time in the Minnesota woods; he brought a dream to life by building a cabin on a lake near Itasca State Park, which serves as a special place for the family to gather.
Court is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Arlene Hanson of Blanchard. Court was the proud father of Margretta (Jeff Martell) Hanson of Saint Paul, Minnesota, and Elizabeth (JJ) Johnson of Fargo, North Dakota. It was his joy and delight to be “Bunca” (grandpa) to James Johnson, Mara Johnson, and Carolina Martell. He is also survived by his siblings: Jan (David) Fisher, Kris (Danny) Scarborough, and Bruce (Sharyl) Hanson; brother-in-law Arnold (Pat) Osland; nieces and nephews, and many extended family.
