Arlene L. Rayner Beekman

April 21, 1923 — October 30, 2020

   Arlene Rayner Beekman, 97, of Mayville, ND, died Friday, October 30, 2020 at the Hatton Prairie Village in Hatton, ND.

   Arlene Rayner Beekman was born Arlene Louise Mahar on April 21, 1923 in Lubec, ME. She lived with her parents in Kittery, ME until she met and married Arthur Rayner in 1941. They had three boys, Edward, Paul and Alan. Mr. Rayner was an employee of the Navy Civil Service as a Facility Maintenance Manager. They lived in New London, CT, the Philippines for six years and then returned to New London where he retired. Their last home together was in Raleigh, NC where Mr. Rayner died of cancer in 1976. They were married thirty-five years.

   In 1983 Arlene met and married Robert Beekman. They enjoyed twenty-two years together, living in Pensacola, FL, Lady Lake, FL and Spring Hill, FL. They both loved to travel, taking many cruises and cross country bus tours. Mr. Beekman passed away from liver cancer at their final home together in 2005. Arlene remained in Pensacola to be near her sons Alan and Edward.

   In 2010, Arlene moved to the Luther Memorial Independent Living Apartments at Mayville, ND to be near her son Paul, and most recently became a resident of Hatton Prairie Village.

   Arlene is survived by her sons: Paul of Hatton, ND and Alan of Port Angeles, WA; five grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

   She was preceded in death by her oldest son: Edward; one grandchild: Michelle Rayner and one great grandchild: Lance Rayner.

  Private services will be held at a later date.
