February 7, 1927 — March 16, 2019

Ardell R Meberg, age 92, of Mayville, ND passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Luther Memorial Home.

Ardell Reinholt was born on February 7, 1927 in Grand Forks, North Dakota to Emil and Mary (Campbell) Reinholt. She lived on the family farm with her parents and graduated from Fairdale High School in 1944.

She attended Mayville State Teachers College, and graduated with a Teaching Degree in 1946. Her first teaching job was at Hoople School District where she taught for 1 year before marrying Henry Lee Jr who she met while attending Mayville State.

They were married on the Reinholt Farm near Fairdale in 1947. From there they settled on the Lee Farm north of Mayville, North Dakota, and she worked as a homemaker while her husband Henry farmed in a partnership with his family. They had four children together -- Mary, Ralph, Margaret, and Richard.

Ardell became a widow when Henry passed away in 1966 – a single mom with 4 young children to raise. She moved off the Lee Farm into Mayville where she enrolled in Mayville State College to complete her Bachelor’s Degree in Education. She graduated in May 1969, and relocated to East Grand Forks, MN to begin a second teaching career as Senior High Librarian. She taught there from 1969 to 1976.

In 1976, Ardell married Paul Meberg and moved to Park River, ND.  She assisted Paul to a use a home dialysis machine 3 days a week for 16 years.  This sort of medical care was a rarity for that time in rural ND. After Paul passed away in 1993, she moved back to Mayville in 1994.
