Hazel T. Sathra

Funeral services for Hazel T. Sathra, 93, of Jacksonville, FL, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 20 at Gran Lutheran Church, Mayville. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at the Gran Cemetery. Hazel died Thursday, January 11, 2007 at the home of her daughter in Jacksonville, FL. Hazel Sathra was born February 1, 1913 in Hatton ND to Martin and Marie Grindeland. She grew up and attended schools in Mayville. Hazel attended Mayville State College and taught in several rural schools. She married Hilles Sathra on November 13, 1945 at Gran Lutheran Church, Mayville. She later graduated from River Falls State College in Wisconsin and taught for 30 years in Minnesota They lived many years in Bayport, MN. In 1967 they moved to Naples, FL and in 1985 to Jacksonville. Hazel is survived by one daughter, Marjorie (Robert) Pace; 2 grandchildren, Arin and Ryan Pace (all of Jacksonville, FL); 1 sister, Irene Ogburn; and 1 brother, Norman Grindeland, both of Mayville, ND as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
