Zola F. Erickson

Zola F. Erickson, 95, of Mayville, ND, died Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at Sanford Medical Center, Mayville, ND. Zola was born December 11, 1914 to Ernest and Bertha (Odden) Stein at Clyde, ND. She graduated from Loma High School. On June 28, 1937 she was united in marriage to Clarence A. Erickson at Nekoma, ND. The couple made their first home at Fordville, ND and then Loma, ND. They later moved to Galesburg, ND and eventually resided in Mayville. In the fall of 2008, Zola moved into Luther Memorial Home. Zola was a member of Mayville Lutheran Church. She was a gifted piano player, playing by ear. Before marrying Clarence, she organized a little swing band called the “Rhythm Rascals” playing around the Cavalier county area. Zola also enjoyed fishing with Clarence and playing bingo. Zola is survived by her son, Gary (Bonnie) Erickson of Mayville; 1 grandson, Wade (Kristen) Erickson of Fargo, ND; 3 great-grandchildren, Cole, Katelyn and Parker; and 2 sisters-in-law, Doris Stein of Langdon, ND and Anne Stein of Forman, ND. She was preceded in death by her husband; 2 grandsons, Shane Erickson and Robert Erickson; 1 sister, Elsie; and 2 brothers, Earl and Victor. Visitation: 2 hours prior to the Funeral Service, at Luther Memorial Home Chapel. Funeral Service: 2:30 pm Saturday November 27, 2010, at Luther Memorial Home Chapel, Mayville, ND.
