Gayle (Christianson) LaChapelle

Gayle LaChapelle, 58 of Grand Forks, ND died Thursday, October 14, 2010 at Mayo Clinic Hospital, Rochester, MN. Gayle was born on June 26, 1952 to Earl and Joyce (Haagenson) Christianson in Mayville, ND. She grew up in Portland, ND and graduated from Portland High School. She moved to Grand Forks, ND where she worked at Valley Dairy. Gayle endured many medical procedures during her life. Even with all she went through, she always remained cheerful and positive. Gayle took pleasure in the simple things in life. She had many nieces and nephews that she enjoyed spending time with. She had one God child, Shaunna, who was very special to her. Gayle enjoyed her pet cats, especially Baxter. Gayle is survived by her father, Earl Christianson of Portland; fiancé, Dave Christiansen of Grand Forks; 2 brothers, Barry (Connie) Christianson of Mayville and Bruce (Carla) Christianson of Portland; 3 sisters, Janice (Bob) Jorgensen, Susan (Rick) Tastad, and Julie (Lee) Brenna, all of Mayville; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Joyce and her grandparents, Gilbert and Eva Haagensen, and Herman and Clara Christianson. Visitation: Will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial Service: 2 PM Saturday, October 23, 2010 at the Bruflat Lutheran Church, Portland. Burial: Bruflat Cemetery, Portland.
