Betty Jane Anderson

Betty Jane Anderson (McQueen), 86, of Fargo, died February 9, 2010 at Elim Rehab and Care Center in Fargo, ND. She was born on September 4, 1923 in Redwood Falls, MN, the daughter of Milo and Lila ( Carver ) McQueen. She graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1943. After high school, Betty served in the United States Navy from 1943 to 1948. On November 2, 1952, she married Chester J. Anderson at the Congregational Church in Hillsboro. After their marriage, the couple lived on the family farm until moving to a farmstead in rural Cummings. Throughout her lifetime, Betty assisted her husband in farming and carpentry and loved life on the farm. They retired from farming in the mid 1990’s. She lived there until Chester’s death in January 2007. Betty is survived by one daughter, Juliane (Dirk) Cigelske of Fargo; one son, Jeffrey (Jane) Anderson of Fargo; one grandson, Brock Cigelske and one step grandson, Brandon Berg. Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Chester, her parents, her grandson, Zane Cigelske and two sisters, Phyllis Schultz and Zola Pederson. Funeral Service: 2:00 PM, Friday, February 12, 2010 at Mayville Lutheran Church, Mayville, ND. Visitation: 5-8 PM Thursday at Baker Funeral Home, Mayville, ND, and one hour prior to the funeral service, at the church. Burial: Carlson Cemetery, rural Cummings, ND.
