Harry Andrew Davis

Harry Davis, 85, of Page, ND died Saturday, January 23, 2010 at his farm home, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. Harry was born on Feb 2, 1924 in Mizpah, MN to Andrew and Johanna (Messnier) Davis. He graduated from Northome High School in 1942. He came to the Page area in 1943. Harry married Gladys Rintoul on November 7, 1945 in Moorhead, MN. They lived on the family farm in Lake Township for 63 years. He was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Page and served on the church board. He also served on the Lake Township Board and was a long time member of the Valley City Eagles. He worked in several garages and the John Deere in Page. Later he worked for the Fuller Land Co. in Hope, ND before farming full time. In 1983, Harry and his son Jan started farming together. Harry is survived by his wife of 64 years, Gladys of Page; two sons, Terence (Rosemary) of Independence, MO, and Jan of Page; one grandson, Daniel and two great-grandsons, Logan and Blake, all of Independence, MO; two sisters, Evelyn Noss of Stayton, OR and Lillian Hanks of Bemidji, MN; and one brother, Robert, of Windson Locks, CT. He was preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth, killed in WWII, and one sister. Harry enjoyed farming and will be missed by his family. Funeral Service: 1:30 PM, Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at Our Savoir Lutheran Church, Page, ND. Visitation: Two hours prior to the funeral service, at the church. Arrangements are with Lindsey Carlson Funeral Home of Page, ND.
