Walter Raymond Paulson

Walter Paulson 84, of Mayville, ND, died Friday, January 1, 2010, at the Luther Memorial Home in Mayville. Walter Raymond Paulson was born on November 4, 1925 in Steele County, rural Clifford, ND, the son of Oscar and Clara (Simonson) Paulson. He attended rural school district, Edendale #2, and later, received his GED. Walter then attended the Wahpeton State School of Science for car mechanic repair. He entered the United States Army and served in World War II and later in the Korean conflict. After his discharge, he worked for Schmidt Oil in Portland, ND for numerous years. Walter is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Oliver formerly of Portland; two sisters, Doris (Edgar) Schmidt formerly of Hope, ND and Ardis (Clayton) Voltz formerly of Galesburg, ND. He is survived by his nieces and nephews, Grant (Donna) Schmidt of Jamestown, ND, Martin Schmidt of West Fargo, ND, Karen Abby of Fargo, ND, Ken (Kathy) Voltz of Galesburg, ND, Marlene Voltz of Galesburg, ND, Jeff (Geri) Voltz of Galesburg, ND, and Kirby (Judy) Voltz of Clifford, ND; and great nieces and great-great nieces and nephews from ND, SD, Alaska and California. Visitation: Will be one hour prior to the funeral service, at the church. Funeral: 10:00 AM, Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at Perry Lutheran Church, Portland, ND. Burial: Perry Cemetery, in the spring 2010.
