Vernon Everett Fugleberg

Vernon Everett Fugleberg, 81, Portland, ND, died Friday, June 09, 2006 at Union Hospital, Mayville ND. Vernon was born February 4, 1925, in Steele county, where he grew up and attended school. He was the son of I.O. and Lillian (Severson) Fugleberg. He was baptized at Little Forks Church, rural Portland, where he was also confirmed in 1938. He married ElDora Thompson on June 17, 1944. They lived and farmed in Steele County until moving to Mayville in 1968. ElDora died December 14, 1988. Vernon continued farming throughout his entire life. He enjoyed driving in his Tahoe and making several phone calls to various family members and friends every day. He is survived by his five children, Mike (Peggy) Fugleberg, St. Paul, MN, Jackie (Maurice) Best, Virginia, MN, James (Cindy) Fugleberg, Willmar, MN, Jeri Fugleberg, Fargo, ND, and Jeff Fugleberg, St. Paul, MN; seven grandchildren, Landon, Chelsey, Lindsay, Scott, Danica, Jenna, and Dustin; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Lavon Fugleberg, Portland, ND; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife ElDora, infant son James, two brothers, Wallace and Duane, and his parents. FUNERAL SERVICE: Monday, June 12, 2006 at 11:00 AM at Baker Funeral Home Chapel, Mayville, ND. VISITATION: Sunday, June 11, 2006 from 4-6 PM with a prayer service at 6PM at Baker Funeral Home, Mayville, ND. BURIAL: Mayville Cemetery, Mayville, ND.
