Douglas William Dick, 54, passed away on September 26, 2017 at Sanford Hospital in Mayville surrounded by his family. After a 4 year battle with cancer, he is finally resting in the hands of God. Doug was born on December 7, 1962 in Ft. Monmouth, NJ, to Donald and Judith (Divine) Dick. He grew up in Enderlin, ND and attended school there. Doug was a jack of all trades and worked many different trades throughout his life, but mostly worked in agriculture business. Doug worked helping a farmer until his cancer no longer allowed him to. Doug married Donna Torbenson on April 25, 1987 in Lisbon, ND. Doug and Donna moved to Mayville, ND in 1988 where they raised their children David and Dayna, who he was so proud of. In 1999 they moved to their farm outside of Mayville. He loved being in the country and taking care of his yard and his family. Doug was a loving husband, father and friend. He enjoyed being outside, hunting, working in the garden, playing guitar, watching the Vikings and Twins, and his Old Mil. Cooking was always something Doug loved to do. For many years he participated in Chili-Cook offs, and took a great pride in his first place wins. Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Donna; son David (Teresa) Dick, Fargo and daughter Dayna Dick, Argusville: Siblings: Mary (Bruce) Madsen, Lisbon; Donald (Julie) Dick, Enderlin; Kevin (Doris) Dick, FR Mill, SC: Mother in law: Kathy Torbenson, Enderlin: In Laws: Lori (Dale) Kaber, Enderlin; Julie Stolz (Shawn Eidsvold), Fargo; Sirena (Robbie) Jankowski, Enderlin: 1 Aunt, 1 Uncle, 6 Nieces, 4 Nephews and numerous cousins. Doug is preceded in death by his parents: Donald and Judith, Father in law: Ronald Torbenson, Sister in law: Kathy Dick and Brother in Law: Barry Stolz. Visitation: Will be one hour prior to the service at the Baker Funeral Home Chapel in Mayville, ND. Memorial Service: 2:00 PM Friday, September 29, 2017 at the Baker Funeral Home Chapel in Mayville, ND. Burial: Will be at the Fillmore Cemetery in Enderlin, ND.
