Lowell O. Baldock

December 11, 1933 — July 25, 2017

Lowell O. Baldock, 83, of Mayville, ND died on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at the Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND. Lowell was born to Herbert and Alice Baldock on December 11, 1933. He grew up and attended school in Portland and graduated from Portland High School. He joined the US Army after high school and had been an active member of the American Legion since his service in the Army. Lowell married Mary Johnson on November 16, 1956 at Mayville Lutheran Church. They farmed and raised 3 children: Steve, Vicki and Dale on the family farm southwest of Portland. In 1975, he became a business owner in Clifford, ND until his retirement in 1997. Lowell loved working on the farm and was famous for his big garden. He graciously shared his produce with many friends and family. The joke was, his garden was so large it could feed all of Traill County, and nothing made him happier. Anyone who knew Lowell knew he was an avid story-teller. If a person was willing to sit and listen to him, he would tell endless hilarious stories. He is survived by his wife of 60 years: Mary of Portland; children: Steve (Kathy) Baldock of Mayville, Vicki (Andy) Schreiner of Mayville and Dale (Lori) Baldock of Portland; 7 grandchildren: Chad Baldock, Ryan Baldock, Justin (Kara) Schreiner, Allison Schreiner, Brandon (Mariah Anhorn) Schreiner, Erica (Cody Landa) Baldock and Chelsey (Jack) Reimer; 3 great-grandchildren: Corbin Schreiner, Audrina Schreiner and Aiden Landa; 2 brothers: Donnie Baldock and Lynn (Toni) Baldock; 2 sisters: Irene Swenson and Phylis Allred and many special nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers: Howard and Dennis Baldock; a sister-in-law: Delores Baldock; 2 brothers-in-law: Richard Bjerke and Lyder Swenson; a niece: Lori Swenson and a nephew: Charles Baldock. Visitation: Will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial Service: 2:00 PM Saturday, July 29, 2017 at the Mayville Lutheran Church in Mayville, ND.
