Edward Gerhard Larsen

Edward “Ed” G. Larsen, 102, of Hunter, ND, died Thursday, September 24, 2009, at the Good Samaritan Home in Arthur, ND. Edward was born on November 1, 1906 to Otto and Johanne (Nielsen) Larsen at Oconto, Wisconsin. In 1915 he moved with his family to a farm Northwest of Hunter. He received his education at a country school and also in Hunter. On March 7, 1934 he married Agnes Thompson in Moorhead, MN. They farmed in the Galesburg and Hunter area until 1958, when they moved into Hunter. Ed was employed at Hunter Grain Company until 1972 and from 1975 to 1985 he worked at State Oil and Auto Company when he retired. Ed was a member of First Lutheran Church of Hunter. Ed is survived by one son, Myron of Hunter; one daughter, Jane Zelinski of Spokane, WA; one granddaughter, Liz Zelinski of Seattle, WA; one grandson, Joe (Jen) Zelinski of Wenatchee, WA; two great grandsons, Peyton Edward Zelinski and Austen Thomas Zelinski of Wenatchee, WA; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes in 1998; three sisters and one brother. Visitation: Will be from 4-6 PM Sunday, September 27, 2009 at the Baker Funeral Home in Mayville, and will resume one hour prior to the service at the church Funeral: 10:30 AM Monday, September 28, 2009 at the First Lutheran Church in Hunter, ND Burial: Hunter Cemetery
