Doris Paulson

Doris Paulson, 74, of Mayville, ND died Thursday, September 3, 2009 at Luther Memorial Home in Mayville. Doris was born January 18, 1935 in Pontiac, MI to Earl and Doris (Frazier) Brand. She grew up and graduated from high school in Pontiac. She married LuVern Paulson on March 7, 1953. They moved to North Dakota where Earl farmed and Doris raised their children. In 1957 they moved back to Michigan and in 1969 Doris began working as a nurse’s aid for Lourdes Nursing Home. For 28 years, Doris also sold Avon products. The couple retired to Florida until 1997 when they returned to Mayville. Doris became a resident of Luther Memorial Home in 2000; a place she was well cared for at and considered it her home. Doris loved people and had many great friends. She always enjoyed children, animals, and especially babies. Doris is survived by her two daughters, Debra Martin (fiancée Ken Brock) and Zona (Jack) Wood, both of Waterford, MI; one son, Kenneth Paulson of Las Vegas, NV; grandson, Karl Wood of Fort Campbell, KY; brother, Kenneth (Rosemary) Brand of Crestview, FL; sister, Helen Carson of Crestview, FL; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 50 years, LuVern in 2003, brother, Robert Brand, and an infant son, James. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Luther Memorial Home, 750 Main St. E., Mayville, ND 58257. Funeral Service: 10:00 AM, Monday, September 7, 2009 at Luther Memorial Home Chapel in Mayville. Visitation: 3-5 PM, Sunday, September 6, 2009 at Baker Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the funeral service, at Luther Memorial Home. Interment: Gran Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Mayville, ND.
