Nicholas Roller

Nicholas Roller, 88, of Fargo, ND formerly of Clifford, ND died on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Bethany Homes in Fargo, ND. He was born on July 12, 1928 in Dickinson, ND to Joseph B. and Mary A. (Kubischta) Roller. He attended rural school near Clifford, ND, and spent his life farming with his brother Joseph, until retiring. Nicholas married Delores (Tuchscherer-Erbstoesser) on October 3, 1969 in Hope, ND. He enjoyed spending time in Mesa, AZ, meeting new friends, telling jokes and playing pinochle with family and friends. Nick also enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play sports. His favorite meal was chicken: any kind. Some of his favorite shows to watch were Wheel of Fortune, the Price is Right and the Minnesota Twins baseball games. Nicholas served in the Korean War and was a member of the Jefferson-Steinke American Legion Post #18 in Hope and was a member of the St. Agatha’s Catholic Church in Hope. Nicholas is survived by his wife: Delores of Fargo; his children: Rose Mary (Brad) Ulland of Park River, William (Judy) Erbstoesser of Clifford, Margie Zietz of Burlington and Julie (Tim) Schnabel of Fargo; grandchildren: Greg (Brandie) Ulland, Rachel (Randy) Rice, Nathan (Talia) Erbstoesser, Jessica (Joshua) Jordan, Jennifer Erbstoesser, Craig, Cole, Nicholas, Noah and Tobias Zietz, Ethan (Jessica) Schnabel and Anthony Schnabel; great-grandchildren: Mia and Harper Ulland, Reggie, Ray and Richard Rice, Aubrey, Brycen and Beckett Erbstoesser and Duke Schnabel; brother: Theodore (Toni) Roller of Espanola, NM; brothers-in-law: Father Vince Tuchscherer and John Bachmeier; sister-in-law: Minnie Roller; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters and brothers: Anton Roller, Emma Heiser, Louie Roller, Josephine Roller, Adolph Roller, Valentine Roller, Rose Armbrust-Dubord, Jacob Roller, Ludwig Roller, Robert Roller, Cecelia Warner, Pauline Haagenson and Joseph Roller. Visitation: Will be one hour prior to the service at St. Agatha’s Catholic Church in Hope, ND. Funeral Service: 10:00 AM Monday, April 17, 2017 at St. Agatha’s Catholic Church in Hope, ND. Military Honors: Hope American Legion and the North Dakota Military Funeral Honors. Burial: Will be at the Hope Cemetery in Hope, ND.
