Gordon Lynn Domier, 83, of Mayville, ND died peacefully on Sunday, January 22, 2017 at the Luther Memorial Home, Mayville, ND. Gordon was born December 11, 1933 to Clarence and Ruth (Swingen) Domier of Portland, ND. He grew up and lived near the Domier family farm in rural Portland. Gordon attended country school near Portland and graduated from Portland High School. Gordon also attended North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton, ND and received certificates in welding and farm management. In 1953 he married Sylvia Thompson and together they had 4 children: Rebecca (Harold) Ambroson of Elk Grove Village, IL, Randy (Becky) Domier of Grafton, ND, Lisa Domier of Olney, MD and Kathryn (James) Rygg of Portland; 1 step-daughter: Lonnie (Jarrod) Baker of Fargo, ND and numerous grandchildren, step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He married Loretta Walker in 1984 in Las Vegas, NV, and together they made their home in rural Portland. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Loretta and a grandson: Derek Bjarnason. Gordon was a member of Perry Lutheran Church and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. A farmer his whole life, he was happiest when working outdoors, growing crops, raising livestock and taking care of his dogs (pets). He especially enjoyed tinkering with equipment during the long winter months preparing for spring planting. Gordon retired from farming and later due to health reasons, moved into Mayville in 2013, where he moved into assisted living and subsequently into the Luther Memorial Home in December 2016. Memorial Service: Friday, January 27, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Lutheran Memorial Home Chapel in Mayville, ND. Burial: Perry Lutheran Church Cemetery, Portland, ND.
