Henry Finstrom

Henry August Finstrom, 91, of Mayville, ND died Sunday, July 10, 2016 at the Luther Memorial Home in Mayville. Henry was born March 21, 1925 to Henning and Anna (Hanson) Finstrom at the family farm in rural Buxton, ND. He moved with his family to Simcoe, ND for a time. The family returned to the Buxton area where he attended rural school in Wold Township and graduated from the Buxton High School in 1943. Thoughout his life, he worked at a grain elevator, in construction and also as a farm hand in the Mayville area and neighboring towns. Henry was known to say that some of his favorite memories where his visits to California and Chicago. He enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and playing cards. Henry is survived by his nieces: Annette Hauser of Cummings, ND, Rebecca Lusk of El Paso, TX, Janice Schulz of Hillsboro, ND, Kim (Rob) Aubol-Wogsland of Missoula, MT, Dana (Kevin) Klander of Eveleth, MN and Amy (Rich) Currier of St. Paul, MN; nephews: Daniel (Teresa) of Buxton, Mark of Chaparral, NM, James of Las Cruces, NM, Joel of Cummings, ND, Gary (Helen) Aubol of Virginia, MN, Daniel (Lene’) Aubol of Austin, MN, Colleen Sparrow of Fargo, ND and Dianna Mae (Jerry) Long of Clarinda, IA; numerous great nieces and great nephews; cousin: Pat (Joann) Finstrom. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Gunvor Ellingrud and Selma Larson; brothers: Carl Finstrom and Lenning Aubol; nephew, Lonnie Aubol and two brothers-in-law. Visitation: Will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home chapel. Funeral Service: 2:00 PM Friday, July 15, 2016 at the Baker Funeral Home Chapel in Mayville, ND. Burial: Will take place in North Prairie Cemetery, Buxton, ND.
