Christopher Thomas Skadeland

Christopher Thomas Skadeland, 54, of Mayville, ND, formerly of New York, NY died on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at the Luther Memorial Home in Mayville. Christopher Thomas Skadeland was born on January 18, 1962 to Ivan and Beatrice Skadeland in Mayville, ND. He is the youngest of four children. Christopher graduated from Mayville-Portland High School in 1980. He attended college at Mayville State University. He moved to New York City in 1985 to pursue his career in music. During the next ten years he performed in several rock and heavy metal bands in and around the New York City area. Christopher was also adventurous as he participated in sky diving and scuba diving. Christopher continued his music career by becoming a cast member in the musical production of “Hair”. He traveled throughout Germany, Austria, Italy and other countries for eighteen months. Christopher lived and worked in Manhattan for over 30 years. He loved New York City and attended a variety of music events and concerts which ranged from Heavy Metal to Gospel to Opera. Christopher enjoyed working at KPMG, LLP since January 2007 where he was promoted to Sr. Project Analyst. He is survived by his siblings: Patricia (Larry) Syverson, Mayville; Jeffrey (Lori) Skadeland, Portland and Janet (Merrill) Meyer of Portland, ND. Christopher’s nieces and nephews are Ryan Syverson, Scott Syverson, Jess Syverson, Katie Skadeland, Thomas Skadeland and Danna Hanson. Christopher is preceded in death by his parents. Visitation: Will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral Service: 11:00 AM Monday, June 27, 2016 at the Bruflat Lutheran Church in Portland, ND. Burial: Will be in the Bruflat Cemetery, Portland, ND.
