George Ernest Jefferson Jr.

George E. Jefferson Jr., 66, of Page, ND, died Tuesday, February 17, 2009, at the VA Medical Center in Fargo, ND. George was born May 21, 1942 to George Sr. and Ellen (Langdahl) Jefferson in Galesburg, ND. He grew up in Page where he graduated from High School. He attended North Dakota State University in Fargo before joining the U.S. Air Force in 1963. He worked on F-101 airborne missile guidance systems at the Grand Forks Air Force Base. In 1967 he returned to Page and worked at the Ford garage and International Harvester dealership before starting his own business, Jeff’s Service and Supply, 25 years ago. George was an avid racecar fan and thoroughly enjoyed helping others maintain their racecars. He was active in the American Legion Morton-Reger Post 154, in Page for many years, recently acting as commander. George is survived by his brother, Ardell (Judith) Jefferson of Aurora, CO; one niece, Katie Jefferson of Boulder, CO; and several other loving relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held Sunday, February 22, 2009 from 3-5 PM at the Lindsey-Carlson Funeral Home in Page. Funeral Services are tentatively planned for March 25, 2009.
