Dorothy F. Haugen

Dorothy F. Haugen, 89, of Mayville, ND and formally of Clifford, ND went home to be with her Savior on Monday, September 7, 2015. She was under the care of the Luther Memorial Home and Hospice of the Red River Valley. Dorothy was born March 2, 1926 in Hunter, ND to Bert and Frieda (Thompson) Van Zee. She was the middle child of 7 children. She married Carsten Haugen on Easter Sunday, April 9, 1950 in Hunter. She was a very active member of Norman Lutheran Church in Clifford. Through the years she has worked in many different kitchens around the area, including Paula’s, Galesburg Cafe and also the Clifford School. Her many past time were making quilts for her family as well as the church. Dorothy is survived by her 4 children: Carrie (Don) Boyce of Mandan, ND, Richard of Fargo, ND, Brenda (Lyle) Berg of Lidgerwood, ND and Inez (Brad) Olson of Mayville, ND; daughter-in-law: Sue Haugen of Fargo, ND; 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren and a sister: Donna Nash of Littleton, CO. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Carsten, who passed away in January of 1997; son: Robert; 3 sisters and 2 brothers. Visitation: Will be 5- 7 PM on Friday, September 11, 2015 with a 7 PM Public Prayer Service at the Luther Memorial Home Chapel in Mayville and will resume one hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral Service: 10:00 AM Saturday, September 12, 2015 at the Norman Lutheran Church in Clifford, ND. Burial: Will be at the Clifford Cemetery in Clifford, ND.
