Dale S. Enger, 75, of Portland, ND passed away Tuesday morning, July 28, 2015 at Luther Memorial Home in Mayville, ND. Dale Enger was born April 18, 1940 to Frances and Cora (Pederson) Enger. He grew up on a farm four miles north of Mayville. He married Brenda Hegstad on March 2, 1962. He was a farmer up until retirement and spent some winters working at the Standard station in Mayville. Dale loved to visit about farming, cars, collections and grandkids. He enjoyed music, plays, attending church, going to Norsk Hostfest, an occasional trip to Mahnomen, and watching sports. He was a member of Aurdal church and enjoyed singing at church and with the choirs, teaching Sunday school, being a mentor, Council President and Trustee. He also was a member of the Grain Elevator Board, Luther Memorial Home Board Member, and a 4-H leader. Dale loved people and often would visit about how important family is. He wanted everyone to know God loves them and so does he. He is survived by two sons: Dean (Michelle) Enger of Elk River, MN, Paul (Bonnie) Enger of Portland, ND; and two daughters: Kelly (Bryan) Aalund of Hazen, ND and Julie (Paul) Winger of Portland, ND; 9 grandchildren: Stephanie Aalund, Rachel (Jesse) Griggs, Derek Enger, Nicole Enger, Tanner Enger, Hamilton Enger, Zachery Enger, Dwight (Rachel) Winger, Darrin Winger and one great granddaughter: Allie Aalund. Siblings: Carol (Delmer) Nystedt, Rodger (Averiel) Enger and Clea (Shannon) Rickert. He was preceded in death by his wife Brenda (Hegstad) Enger, parents Frances and Cora Enger. Visitation: Will be 5 – 7 PM with a 7 PM Public Prayer Service on Friday, July 31, 2015 at the Baker Funeral Home Chapel in Mayville, ND and will resume one hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral Service: 10:30 AM Saturday, August 1, 2015 at Aurdal Lutheran Church in Portland, ND. Burial: Will be at the Aurdal Cemetery, Portland, ND.
