Beverly C. Aamold

Beverly C. (Kobbervig) Aamold, 78, of Bemidji, MN, formerly of Buxton, ND died on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at her home under the care of Hospice and surrounded by her children and siblings. Beverly was born to LeRoy and Audrey (Holmen) Kobbervig on March 31, 1937 in Grand Forks, ND. She was baptized at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Buxton, ND and attended school at Buxton graduating in 1955. She then attended Sisters of St. Joseph nurses training in Grand Forks obtaining her LPN. While in training, Beverly met the love her of her life: Roger Aamold. They were married December 15, 1956 in Minneapolis MN. Beverly worked as an LPN in Moorhead MN, Williston and Dickinson ND. She returned to school to earn her diploma in nursing at Holy Cross Hospital of Nursing in Salt Lake City Utah, where they were currently living, graduating in 1969. She was a staff RN in the emergency room at St. Benedicts in Ogden Utah until moving back to Grand Forks in 1970. She began working at the Deconess hospital which later became United Hospital and then Altru. She held many different positions, surgical staff nurse, assistant head nurse of surgery and holding room charge nurse. In 1987 she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Health Arts from the Collage of St. Frances and finished her career at Altru as a Coordinator in pre-op. Beverly and Roger retired to Lake Beltrami near Bemidji, MN, where they had summer homed since the early 80’s. Not wanting to be idle, Beverly returned to work as a cardiovascular coordinator on the Red Lake Reservation. She finished her career as a school nurse at the Red Lake Reservation providing nursing services for 1,500 students at 3 elementary schools, a middle school, high school and 2 Head Start programs. Beverly was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Buxton, ND serving on the church council as secretary and singing in the choir. She was a member of many organizations including the Grand Forks Jaycees, AORN (serving as President for 1 term) Sons of Norway, and many other nursing organizations. Beverly enjoyed reading, researching Norwegian heritage, casino bus trips with Roger, her family and friends, traveling to family events, playing cards, drinking coffee, watching the hummingbirds from her kitchen table, her grandchildren and wintering in AZ. Beverly is survived by her children: Rick (Holly) Aamold Buxton, ND Jeff (Mona) Aamold Scottsdale, AZ, Michelle (Mark) Undiano Surprise AZ. 9 Grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Her siblings: Patty (Richard) Adams Kellogg MN, Tony (Karen) Kobbervig Valley City ND. Sisters-in-law: Donna Wonzer Grand Forks ND, Laverene Aamold Mayville ND, Lorna Aamold Grand Forks ND along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Beverly was preceded in death by her husband Roger, her parents LeRoy and Audrey (Holmen) Kobbervig and her niece Andrea Adams. Visitation: Will be 3 – 5:00 PM with a 4:30 PM Public Prayer Service on Sunday, July 5, 2015 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Buxton, ND and will resume one hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral Service: 1:00 PM Monday, July 6, 2015 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Buxton, ND. Burial: Will be at Immanuel West Cemetery, Buxton, ND.
