John Moen

John Moen, 67, of Mayville, ND, died on February 18, 2015 at his farm home. John was born August 11, 1947 in Mayville, ND, the son of Harold and Emilie (Mork) Moen. He attended Morgan #3 Rural School and graduated from Mayville High School in 1965. John attended NDSU and then began farming. He farmed in the Mayville area until he retired in 2010. Mayville was his home his entire life. He was very active in the American Legion Post # 8. John enjoyed reading books, playing the guitar, drums, trombone and harmonica. He played in the local county band with his friends as well as The Sometimes Band. John is survived by his mother, Carol Moen of Mayville, ND, brother Paul (Jean) Moen of Mayville, ND, brother Richard Moen of Mayville, ND, sister Susan (Kent) Rasmussen of West Fargo, ND, nieces, Robin (Matt) Salander of Larimore, ND, Emilie ( Mark) Kloster of Mayville, ND, Siri Rasmussen of West Fargo, ND, nephews, Corey (Tiffany) Moen of Mayville , ND, Jordan Rasmussen of West Fargo, ND, Nick Rasmussen of West Fargo, ND, great nieces, Sophia Kloster and Ali Moen, great nephews, Gabe Salander, Tucker Salander, Bo Salander, Marshall Kloster and Andrew Moen. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Emilie (Mork) Moen. Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Bethany Lutheran Church rural Hatton, ND.
