Gladys O. Johnson

Gladys O. Johnson, 101, of Grand Forks, ND, formerly of Mayville, ND, passed away Tuesday January 6, 2015 at the Valley Memorial Nursing Home in Grand Forks, ND. Gladys was born on July 7, 1913 in Mayville, the second oldest of eight children to Eric and Signe Nelson. She attended school in Mayville. Gladys married Henry A. Johnson of Mayville. To this union they had two daughters, Dorothy and Donna. Later, the couple sold the family farm and in 1975 moved to Grand Forks. She is survived by her daughter: Donna Penna of Salt Lake City, UT and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Gladys is preceded in death by her husband: Henry; her parents; three sisters: Clara Heskin, Selma Tuttle and Lilly Flaten; four brothers: Clarence, Norman, William and Ole; a grandson: Robert Penna and her daughter: Dorothy Mergenthal. Visitation: Will be one hour prior to the service on Friday, January 9, 2015 at the Baker Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Service: 1:00 PM Friday, January 9, 2015 at the Baker Funeral Home Chapel in Mayville, ND. Burial: Will be at the Mayville Cemetery, Mayville, ND.
