Earl Victor Christianson

Earl V. Christianson, 87, of Mayville, ND, died on Sunday, December 14, 2014, at the Luther Memorial Home in Mayville. Earl was born in Sharon, ND on January 15, 1927 to Herman and Clara (Rudd) Christianson. Earl married Joyce Haagenson on July 25, 1948. The couple made their home on a farm West of Portland, ND where they raised livestock. He loved to play the organ and the accordion, which he played by ear. Earl played in Tony’s Band throughout the local area. After his farming years, he took up mowing: he loved his small John Deere tractor. Earl is survived by his children: Barry (Connie) Christianson, Janice (Bob) Jorgensen, Bruce (Carla) Christianson, Susan (Rick) Tastad and Julie (Lee) Brenna; 17 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and one sister: Ruth Lindaas. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife: Joyce; daughter: Gayle LaChapelle; six brothers: Axel, Leonard, Elmer, Jerome, Jeroy and Kenneth; and two sisters: Myrtle and Hazel. Visitation: Will be 5 – 7:00 PM with a 6:30 PM Public Prayer Service on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at the Baker Funeral Home Chapel and will resume one hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral Service: 2:00 PM Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Bruflat Lutheran Church in Portland, ND. Burial: Will be at Bruflat Cemetery, Portland, ND.
