Larry M. Kleveland, 73 of Mayville, ND passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, August 5th 2014 at Hatton Prairie Village in Hatton, ND. Larry was born on June 19th, 1941 to the late Burnham and Velma (Koreing) Kleveland in Mayville. Larry was a graduate of the Mayville public school in 1960. Throughout his working career as a welder/diesel mechanic, Larry traveled and worked in many locations across the states of North Dakota and Minnesota. Larry was a very hard worker and a proud member of the Local 49 Operating Engineers Union. During his long career, Larry made many lifelong friendships across the entire state of North Dakota. Larry was also an active member of the Masons since 1979, which included memberships of the Goose River Lodge in Mayville and the Knife River Spinners in Hazen ND. He was also very active in the Shriners and one of the founders of the Keystone Kops in Mayville. Larry's commitment to his friends and his brothers of the lodge was evident through his many years of hard work and dedication. He will be missed by all who knew him. Larry is survived by the love of his life, Karen Ballweg of Mayville ND; two children, Stephanie (Randy) Moninger of Lawrenceburg KY and Kenny (Jen) Kleveland of Casselton ND; two step children, Nadine Stremick of West Fargo ND and Brock of Devils Lake ND; three siblings, Keith Kleveland of Huntsville, TX, Vicki (the late Rod Gillings) Gillings of Annandale, MN and Bonnie (Keith) Nelson of Kindred ND; and nine grandchildren, Kara (Moninger) Jones, Kristin and Casey Moninger, Caleb Kleveland, Baiden Sjomeling, Alexander, Riley and Kendra Stremick, and Ashley Ballweg. Larry was preceded in death by his mother and father, Velma and Burnham Kleveland. Visitation: Will be 5 – 7 PM with a 7:00 PM Public Prayer service and a 7:30 PM Masonic Service on Friday, August 8, 2014 at the Baker Funeral Home Chapel and will resume one hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral Service: 11:00 AM Saturday, August 9, 2014 at Mayville Lutheran Church in Mayville, ND. Burial: Will be at the Mayville Cemetery, Mayville, ND.
