Sigrid Louise Erickson

April 13, 1923 — December 21, 2013

Sigrid Louise (Johnsen) Erickson, 90, of Mayville and formerly of Galesburg, ND, passed away after living a wonderful life on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at the Luther Memorial Home in Mayville, ND. She leaves nieces, relatives and friends with a wealth of love and remembrances. Marilyn Johnson (Chet) Salt Lake City, UT and her family; Jill Johnsen and her son Vaughan Johnston Seattle, WA; Sherry Johnsen (Rolf) Seattle, WA; Sandra Helland (Paul) Mott, ND and her family; Doris Jensen Rochester, MN and her family. Nancy and Mike Satrom; Ella Mae and Paul J Satrom; Janice and Don Olstad; Steve and Theresa Erickson who gave her warmth, fruit, goodies and love. There were many others she cared for and who cared for her, too numerous to mention. The staff at Luther was exceptional in giving her comfort, security and care. The family will forever be grateful. Thank you to Hospice Judy Reckin and Mya Ganslle; her physician’s, Dr. Ostlie and Dr. Mehus; Vickie, RN; Geneil, RN; Christy CNA; Social workers, Jessica and Jackie and all her caregivers at Luther Memorial. Sigrid adapted to farm life after living in Seattle for many years. She had two brothers Thor Johnsen (her twin) and Rolf Johnsen who preceded her in death. Sigrid was introduced to Paul Erickson by his brother Elgin and Fran Erickson – a marriage made in heaven. They married March 19, 1966 and enjoyed a full life together. They bowled, traveled and she gardened. After his passing in 2005, she moved to Luther Memorial Home in Mayville. Memorials may be given to Luther Memorial Home or to Elm River Lutheran Church. A Celebration of Life: Will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, May 16, 2014 at the Elm River Lutheran Church in Galesburg, ND. Burial: Will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 16, 2014 at the Galesburg Cemetery.
