George Ann Jacobs

George Ann Jacobs, 75 of Mayville, ND went to heaven on Tuesday Dec 3, 2013 at the Luther Memorial Home in Mayville. George Ann Jacobs was born May 5, 1938 in Sharpsburg, PA to George and Marie Jacobs. She attended Turtle Creek High School. She married Robert W. Priestley in January of 1955. They had two daughters, Deborah and Catherine. Living a military life, they traveled to Turkey, Italy, and Japan then settled in Finley, ND in 1975. George had many jobs in her lifetime, including managing the Finley Lounge, Sunset Lounge, the PLS and Eagles Club. She always wanted something better for herself, so at the age of 56, she moved to Jamestown, ND and later graduated from Valley City State College, as an Addictions Counselor in 1994. She moved to Minot ND and worked at the North East Human Service Center for a year. Then, she moved to Fargo where she worked at Prairie Psychiatric Center and the ShareHouse until dementia took over her life and she became a resident of the Luther Memorial Home. George loved her job and her grandchildren and spent as much time as possible with them. She was a great friend to many that came into her life. She was a loving mother that would do anything for her family. George was one-of-a-kind and will be missed by many. George is survived by her two daughters: Deborah Lynn Dunleavy of Sanford FL and Catherine Ann (Lynn) Dronen of Portland ND; sister: Shirley Richardson of Hatfield, PA.; three grandsons: James (Melissa) Winton of Dallas, TX, Billy (Bambi) Dunleavy of Sanford, FL and Levi Haugen of Portland ND; six great grandchildren: Alyssa, Skylar and Taylor of Dallas TX, Kaitlynn, Marky and Billy of Sanford FL; one step granddaughter: Ashley (Jakkie) Louw of Devils Lake, ND; one step great grandson: Coby Lynn Dronen of Devils Lake, ND and many nieces and nephews. George is preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter: Shelbey Lynn Haugen and brother: Calvert Jacobs. Visitation: Will be on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 one hour prior to the service at the Luther Memorial Home Chapel in Mayville. Memorial Service: 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at Luther Memorial Home Chapel in Mayville, ND. Burial: Aurdal Cemetery, Portland, ND.
