Delores J. Lande

Delores Janet Lande, 91, of Mayville, ND died Friday, November 8, 2013 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND. She was born April 22, 1922 to Henry and Ella (Sonstegaard) Holt at Park River, ND. The family moved to a farm northeast of Mayville where she attended the Lindaas Township School. On September 2, 1942 Delores was united in marriage to Orville Lande. They farmed North of Mayville and raised two children until they retired in 1983 in Mayville, ND. They traveled some in their retirement years going to Arizona and fishing at Lake of the Woods. Delores was a member of Mayville Lutheran Church. She had many interests over the years . Among some of them were: sewing, crafting, and working in her gardens. She had a love for fishing and catching walleye. Most of all she loved her children and grandchildren and cherished the times she could spend with all her family. Delores is survived by her daughter, Shirley French, Mayville, ND and son, Curtis (Mavis) Lande, Grand Forks, ND and by seven grandchildren, Kevin (Alina) French, Karen (Joe) Myers, Joline Hughes, Anna (James) Gjerset, Lori Lande, Kent (Val) Lande, and Todd (Cami) Lande, seventeen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She is also survived by her sister and brothers Donna (Lowell) Lande, Dick (Marlys) Holt, Dale (Beverly) Holt all of Mayville, Allen (JoAnn) Holt, Fargo, Beverly Kuntz, Billings, Mt and her sister-in-laws Eileen Holt and Dorothy (Holt) Bartolomei. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Orville, brothers Darroll, Byron and Linden Holt, and sisters Hazel Idso, Eleanor Soholt, and Lorraine Holt. Visitation: Will be on Monday, November 11, 2013 from 5 – 7 PM with a 7 PM Public Prayer Service at the Luther Memorial Home Chapel and will resume one hour prior to the service at the Church. Funeral Service: 1:00 PM Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at Mayville Lutheran Church in Mayville, ND. Burial: Mayville Cemetery, Mayville, ND.
