Evelyn Theresa Deshais, 85, died May 11, 2013 at the Hatton Prairie Village in Hatton, North Dakota. Evelyn was born 1 November 1927, the daughter of John and Sarah (LaClaire) McCartey in Springfield, Massachusetts. Evelyn attended elementary school in Springfield and graduated from Cathedral High School. She was united in marriage to Joseph Robert (Bob) Deshais on September 4, 1950. They lived in Springfield, Massachusetts where they raised their family then later moved to Great Falls, Montana. Bob passed away in 1994 and Evelyn moved back to Springfield. She remained there until 1998 when she moved to Mayville, ND to be closer to her daughter and family. Evelyn moved to Hatton Prairie Village in 2000. Evelyn enjoyed visiting with her grandchildren, crocheting and reading and loved to bowl and square dance and played softball growing up. She was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and enjoyed watching baseball on TV. Survivors include her daughter, Marie (Gordon) Aubrey of Hatton, ND; son, John (Kathy) Deshais of Granby, MA, grandsons Andrew (Andrea) Deshais, Bondsville, MA, Michael Deshais, FL, Matthew Deshais, FL, Steve (Jenn) Aubrey, Mott, ND, granddaughters, Stacy (Brian) Parsons, Hatton, ND, Stephanie (Nate) Curtis, Great Falls, MT and twelve great grandchildren. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bob, and granddaughter Tammy Deshais. . Visitation: Will be on Monday, May 20, 2013 one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Memorial Service: 2:00 PM Monday, May 20, 2013 at the Hatton Prairie Village Chapel in Hatton, ND. Burial: St. Thomas Cemetery, W. Springfield, MA.
