Jolene Kay Lande, 30, of Mayville, ND currently residing in Chicago, IL passed away on Wednesday January 9, 2013. Jolene was born with her twin sister Jennifer on July 31, 1982 to Richard and Carol Lande of Mayville, ND. Jolene was a member of Mayville Lutheran Church, and she was a 2001 graduate of MayPort CG School. Jolene worked as a CNA at Luther Memorial Home for many years where she was nominated for numerous caregiver awards. She attended Northwest Tech College and worked at Valley 4000 in Grand Forks with her twin sister. Jolene was a right hand to her father with Lande & Associates and had a passion for auctions. She loved to care for people and decided to pursue a career as a funeral director and enrolled into a Mortuary Science Program in the suburbs of Chicago. After completing school she worked at a Jewish Funeral Home and Freels Funeral Services in Chicago. Most recently she started at a funeral home in Ottawa, IL. Jolene was passionate about funeral service and loved helping people at their most difficult time of need. She definitely left a mark on the hearts of everyone she met. Jolene spent her time volunteering at the Chicago City Pound and with Safe Humane Chicago training and caring for dogs that have been involved in the court system as a result of inhumane treatment. Jolene loved people and loved to make people laugh… she had a contagious laugh. Jolene, JoJo, Joey, Jo Bean, Jo Bud was a glowing heart with a big smile and she brought joy to every life she touched. She was a dedicated daughter, sister, aunt, granddaughter, niece, partner and funeral director. She had so much love to give and a friend to everyone Jolene is survived by her parents: Richard and Carol Lande of Mayville. Loving sister of Christina (Mike) Willison of Hillsboro and Jennifer (Cole) Neset of Fargo. Dedicated Aunt of Barrett and Evelyn Willison; Halle and Reed Neset. Granddaughter of Gudrun Pladson of Hatton. Partner and best friend of Jennifer Freels of Chicago, IL. Special Friend Richard Moen of Mayville. Niece and Friend of many. Jolene was truly loved and will be dearly missed especially by her dogs QTip and Yupp. Visitation: Will be on Sunday, January 13, 2013 from 5 ~ 7 PM with a 7 PM Public Prayer Service at the Baker Funeral Home and will resume one hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral Service: 10:00 AM Monday, January 14, 2013 at Mayville Lutheran Church in Mayville, ND. Burial: Private services are planed at the Mayville Cemetery, Mayville, ND.
