Livia Olive Arnegard

Livia O. Arnegard, 87, of Mayville, ND, died peacefully in her sleep, Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at Hillsboro Medical Center, Hillsboro, ND. Livia was born on May 15, 1920 the daughter of Oscar and Laura (Boyson) Arnegard. She was born on the farm in Mayville, where she also grew up. She attended country school while also raising chickens to earn money. She later used that money to attend the North Dakota School for the Deaf in Devils Lake, ND. After school, Livia returned to the farm in Mayville, and together with her brother, they ran the farm. Around 1988 she built her “dream” log home where she was currently residing. Livia loved farming, especially raising her chickens. She also enjoyed to weave rugs, and would do so all winter. She loved to sew, but only on her trundle sewing machine. She enjoyed spending time with her family and teaching them how to weave. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and great-grand nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her siblings, Gerhard Arnegard, Lloyd Arnegard, Edna Pederson, Doris Arnegard, Myrtle Strom, Vivian Nagel, and Della Kjensrud. FUNERAL SERVICE: Saturday, January 26, 2008 at 2:00 PM at the Baker Funeral Home Chapel in Mayville. VISITATION: Friday, January 25, 2008 from 6-8 PM with a prayer service at 8 PM and one hour prior to the funeral service, all at Baker Funeral Home. BURIAL: Mayville Cemetery, Mayville, ND.
