Paul Vernon Ulland

Paul Vernon Ulland, 79, Mayville, ND, died Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at Union Hospital in Mayville. Paul was born on November 8, 1928 to Peter and Inez (Steen) Ulland, in Mayville, ND. He graduated from high school in 1946, and continued on to Interstate Business College in Fargo. He then returned to Mayville and farmed until 1968. On December 28, 1958, Paul married Joyce E. Boedeker at the Mayville Lutheran Church in Mayville. He worked for many years at Haugen Feed and later at American Crystal Sugar in Hillsboro. He also worked at Garrett Farm’s near Blanchard until the mid 1990’s. In November 2007 he moved to Luther Memorial Home in Mayville, after being diagnosed with cancer. Paul loved spending time with his family and friends. He also liked candy, reading, and visiting with people. He is survived by Joyce of Mayville; three daughters, Kelly Steinbach of Dickinson, ND, Laurie (David) Perlmutter of Detroit Lakes, MN and Sharon (Cal) Peterson of Mayville; one son, Ray S. Ulland of Minot, ND; 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; one brother, Myron (Harriet) Ulland of Mayville; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents. MEMORIAL SERVICE: 10:30 AM Saturday, January 26, 2008 at Gran Lutheran Church, rural Mayville, ND. VISITATION: one hour prior to the funeral at the Church.
