Betty A. Rutherford, 81, of Page, ND, died Thursday, July 26, 2012. Betty Ann Moen was born September 5, 1930 in Ayr, North Dakota to Oscar and Mathilda (Marshall) Moen. She attended school in Ayr until she was 14 when her parents purchased the Page Hotel. She graduated from Page High School. On September 9, 1951 Betty married Clarence Rutherford of Page. They owned and operated the Page Red Owl Store from 1961 until 1982 when they decided to retire. In 1995 Betty became tired of being retired so with the help of Clarence, she and her daughter Judy purchased the Front Page Lounge (formerly Woody’s Bar) renaming it R&J’s Front Page Lounge. Clarence passed away January 30, 2001. Betty continued to own and operate the bar with her daughter and also worked every day until her death. She is survived by three daughters, Judy (Bob) Johnson of Page, ND, Renee (Tim) Bishop, Williston, ND, Brenda (Doug) Gienger, Garrison, ND; one son, Mike (Jane) Rutherford, Rapid City, SD; nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; one sister, Berniece Holden of Grand Forks, ND; two sisters-in-law, Hazel Wise of Lakewood, WA and Genevieve Amundson, Eagan, MN; and one brother-in-law, Les Midlang of Lake Park, MN. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two brothers, Melvin and Arvid Moen; and two sisters, Mildred Midlang and Lucille Hogen. Visitation: Will be on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Memorial Service: 2:00 PM Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Page, ND. Burial: Page Cemetery
