Olga C. Asheim

Olga C. Asheim, 100, of Buxton, ND, died Saturday, July 14, 2012 at Luther Memorial Home in Mayville, ND. Olga was born the daughter of Edward and Ingeborg (Haugen) Haugen on March 14, 1912 at Nekoma, ND. She attended Lindaas Township School in Traill County. On December 5, 1941, she married Melvin Asheim at the home farm near Buxton, ND. They farmed and lived near Buxton all of their married life. Melvin passed away on July 21, 1988. Olga continued to live on the farm near Buxton until entering the Luther Memorial Home in Mayville on July 9, 2012. Olga’s favorite activities were cooking, gardening, sewing and bird watching. She also enjoyed painting on table cloths, curtains and dishtowels. Olga loved spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her two sons: Bernell (Marilyn) Asheim of Buxton, ND and Vernon (Diane) Asheim of Portland, ND; three grandchildren: Greg (Margaret) Asheim, Cindy (Bob) Jurva and Wesley (Anya) Asheim; seven great grandchildren: Jacob Asheim, Thad Asheim, Dylan Walton, Lilja Jurva, Rebecca Asheim, Collin Asheim and Ben Asheim. She was preceded in death by her husband: Melvin; parents; one sister: Edna Haugen, and four brothers: Art, Albert, Harry and Sigbert Haugen. Visitation: Will be on Friday, July 20, 2012 from 5 ~ 7 PM with a 7 PM Public Prayer Service at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Buxton, ND and will resume one hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral Service: 10:00 AM Saturday, July 21, 2012 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Buxton, ND. Burial: Immanuel North West Cemetery, Buxton, ND.
